I have a refurbished Windows 2.6.1.7601 (Service Pack 1), GTX 560M..I've seen this happen a few times over the last couple years. Upon booting up my computer it has the appearance of safe mode where all my icons are missing and everything's grey colored, etc. (except it's not, I just turned it on normally) and gives me some long error plus a small notification on the lower right side that says "failed to connect to a windows service". I've seen this happen a few times over the last couple years...
