In my registry, open startup, this always appears, even after deleting it: GoogleChromeAutoLaunch[random string of numbers]--no-startup-window /prefetch:5. Apparently, it's related to the Ransom.Erebus.A virus. However, your files are supposed to be encrypted, and your browser is supposed to open to a phishing site upon reboot. However, this isn't happening. I got this virus from torrenting. The only thing that's happening is Google Chrome starting up on reboot. I disabled from Task Manager...

One of my kids downloading something and what it did was open multiple instances of fake programs to eat up memory. Also, it's currently blocking chrome from working and not allowing me to open any antivirus or malware protection and in most cases also not letting me even install the programs. I was able to find and delete most of the fake programs. Not sure if their are any more, but there's still something in the system that's making the system not act right. Hello.
Recently, I have been having some trouble with a search-find-it type of what I think is a browser hijacker. I am not sure how to get rid of it. It started around the time I realized that I also had this
Search powered by Yahoo virus/malware. Also during this time I was able to catch and remove a trojan virus. I am thinking these were all connected so I am trying to remove them all as soon as I can.

The search powered by Yahoo malware was refusing to uninstall and I don't know when...

Hello! I am having quite a strange problem. Sometimes captcha is blocked in all browsers for several months. Interestingly enough, I used to have this problem on google.com. But now I am not having the problem on google, but on facebook.com. When the problem was on google, I decided to use other search engines, and bypassed the problem. But now I need to open an account on facebook. Here is the screenshot of the problem:

Hi Experts,

My Bitdefender is notifying the following type of warning message every time I browse the Internet using Google Chrome.

The file C:\Users\baddog\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache\f_0001ac is infected with JS:Adware.Agent.VTZ and was moved to quarantine. It is recommended that you run a System Scan to make sure your system is clean.

I've seen this problem around on some threads and posts, yet I didnt find any solutions for my problem. I may think its related to some malware, yet I did run multiple AdwScans and Malwarebytes scans without finding any malware. I also tried reinstalling chrome, reset, new profile etc without any progression. I hope someone can help me out here. (also same issue on chrome canary)

Hi,
I have a relative that I am trying to help out with a problem. Every so often when using Facebook, a webpage will pop up, locked to full screen mode, along with audio, with the typical tech support scam - your computer has been hacked, all your data is being stolen, you will be reported to your ISP, and call this number right away. The web page is always served from an AWS server. Malwarebytes, Hitman, Zemana find nothing. She says she is not clicking on any of the ad links on Facebook...

Using my chrome browser, I mistakenly downloaded a dangerous software in search of free bitcoin, then all of a sudden I got notifications from my windows defender; "Malware detected". I immediately deleted the software and everything related to the download of that software.

Lately I have trouble with fixing an issue. Everytime I start up my pc My G-data antivirus says that i have a virus called steam.dll. When i look in the Quarantine folder I see that the virus description is Gen:Variant.ursu. I also see that the file comes from a temp folder. So i tried deleting it cuz i read that you are fine to do that. But it didn't help it keeps saying that. I don't even know if it is really a virus because i have no trouble at all with anything else besides my antivirus...

Hi,

Hoping this thread is in the right place.

The sites and patterns seem random in failure rate and I can't access even innocuous seeming sites such as school related things. I am currently approaching finals week in college and work near full time so am strained for the time or resources to have this fixed by an outside company. Any expediency with your advice or help is greatly appreciated and I will try to keep an eye on this thread. Thank you.

So this virus has taken over 4 computers at my house so far. Formatting didn't remove it but I also recognized that my router had something installed on it called chrootkit so I've been trying to repair these PCs offline or using a mobile hotspot. Problem is that even using this method the infection persists through formats. I also figured out the virus uses sideloaded elevation techniques to gain access. I was able to find a ntuser.dat it loaded and it seems to use windows cloud host...

Rootkit? Bootkit? Kernel? IDK but I've never dealt with a virus like this

Yesterday my Microsoft Security Essentials started to get disabled and whenever I activated it i gets disables again the real time protection. Ransomware infected my PC

I've encountered the same problem as the before one and I don't know how I got into this.
The extension type which encrypted my files are "DOPLES" as you can see in the picture.
I found this out when my windows started crashing time to time and Since I've installed new version of windows I cannot recover my files.
HELP??
